Last Geniepoint accounts showed 11 million loss for the last accounting year up to end of December 2024. That's on roughly 8 million turn over. Impressive losses. They owe their group 16 million and that's their hard group overdraft limit 😬

It's a lot better than it was. Most places aren't a single charger with a defective screen (Good old polar) or a 37kw rapid with app only (good old ecotricity). There's only really Geniepoint flying the flag for crap rapid charging now. I think cost is the bigger problem at the moment.

Can you get to Plas Coch in Wrexham? There's a bunch of Osprey chargers there. They're usually a lot better. Shell are on my do not use due to being crap list along with Geniepoint. There's some unknown ones at Saltney as well. Not a known provider. MFG and Instavolt are usually decent as well.

Instavolt have agreed to buy out Geniepoint. Hmm. Geniepoint have been a basket case for years on end. They've already replaced all their hardware once and still couldn't shake off reliability issues. Hopefully this isn't the end of Instavolt.

We had a KIA PV5 to move with, I got to see how good chargers work! I'd been so used to dealing with badly installed and managed GeniePoint units that I was surprised reliable charging existed!

We got the majority of stuff moved!

Plus, they won't actually buy proper warranties on their chargers, and they're all substandard installs […]

An iOS notification from the Octopus Electroverse app telling me about price cuts at public Electric car charging points.
