“While significant, the effect is small enough to conclude that fantastical worlds in video games can be used for tangential learning on geoscientific subjects.”

Don’t mind me, tangentially learning about geoscience all day long.

Let’s make it a geoscience class and it’s a deal (that way easier to also cover weather/oceans/hydrology too).

We're doing this again? Awesome.

I turned graduate work in stratigraphy, paleoecology, paleoclimate and marine biology into a (tenuous, unstable) career in geoscience education, ranging from geohazards to mineralogy and petrology. I'm this close to being a one-person geology program! 🧪⚒️🌊🦪☠️

Hmm... listening to a thing about geoscience curriculum changes (as one does) that doesn't once bring up the licensing requirements that more or less structure the geo or earth science curriculum.

for Geoscience (11/12) I open the year with an exercise where I ask students to find answers to three technical questions, questions they have no reason to know the answer to but should be able to find online.

little do they know I've selected questions that genAIs consistently answer wrong! (e.g.)
seriously they should be embarrassed
