Fortunately, not too bad? Smoke is visible in LA basin, especially from the west side, but AQI sensors are mostly showing particulates east of the fire in the Hollywood Hills and Valley Village/Studio City

As a fire nerd, I'm really happy that this is looking so good, I feel like this may have been a lucky escape. I'm especially hopeful because I'm not seeing the fire going over the ridgeline (from the @alertcalifornia.bsky.social cameras at least). This is the hand crew at work.

Just saw another nice water drop via @alertcalifornia.bsky.social but it looks like air attack is winding down. Hand crews will be on scene for a while to mop up and maintain control lines.

They did not close the 405, I lost a $5 bet, I'm not really sad about this.

I just watched air support put out a big hot spot on the south side of the fire.

Helitanker is coming around for another pass next to the Getty Center, which is the east edge of the fire now. Looks like a second pass next to the Getty Center.

It started a little over an hour ago so that's a good rate of growth (but not horrific). I can see wind-driven spot fires to the east and south, and the main fire is mostly moving north.

There are formal evacuation warnings for Zones LFD-0895 (no structures) and LFD-0967 (Mount St. Mary's U, Getty Center, and the canyon area north of Sunset between Bundy and the 405 (including Bundy). I encourage being ready to go if needed (think: find the pet carriers and documents).
