Gilcho has been one of Scotland’s most deserving players of the professional era. But if Toonie selects him for romance, rather than the more dynamic & impactful options elsewhere in that squad, I will have my head in my hands. He made me eat my words last year vs Aus. But imo that was a one-off.

Lock has been a real puzzler this 6N. Personal opinion only, Gray & Gilcho aren’t offering what we need. Cummings & Williamson oft cited as the injured starters, but where is Cam Henderson in that order? Been in squad. Trained with them. Yet never featured? Where are the issues - and can they be…

Releasing Henderson back to Tigers while Gray remains in a starting spot, feels a hugely problematic result of poor coaching. Ireland lineout should have been targeted. But without Cummings, we had noone. Neither Gray, nor Gilcho offer a carry threat - nor even a convincing dummy line.

Agreed, I love Jonny Gray but we have so much talent coming through at lock, and he and Gilcho didn't exactly set the world alight last year when Cummings was injured. I really feel for Hiddleston too, Turner was a disappointment in the autumn, but hopefully he can recapture his old form.

Absolutely! I’m an Ed fan but I’d’ve had Hiddleston in from the start. No Gilcho (his shorts all but round his knees summed him up) and Williamson and Brown on from the start with Cummings on the bench. But failure aceros the pitch though and … was there a plan? Toony HAS to go after this 6N.

Don’t feel Gray offers enough. Releasing Henderson feels very backwards decision. Equally, Gilcho gives everything for the jersey. But even before halfway vs Ita, his dummy lines weren’t fooling anyone. Defenders will never bite so Sco won’t generate that space. Really missing Cummings et al.

Depends if Toonie reckons he is needed for the lineout. I always find it hard to tell which locks are lineout nerds but Gilcho is said to be one
