#Glacialisaurus
The famous Antarctic theropod Cryolophosaurus has just caught a juvenile Glacialisaurus. That’s going to be a great meal!

This is the package art I did for the upcoming Cryolophosaurus figure by Beasts of The Mesozoic line!

Newest watercolor is Glacialisaurus in honor of the ice storm last night. Colors inspired by the dark purple sleeping bag with yellow interior I had as a kid. 🦕

Also found near the South Pole:
Glacialisaurus, a plant eating dino with a name that means "icy lizard", was about 6 meters long, and fed on abundant vegetation in the semi-tropical and temperate zones of Antarctica.

This image shows some of the vast diversity within the Dinosauria, and the expanse of time and space that they occupied. None of these #dinosaurs lived with each other, or with T. rex.

Made for the book "Mega Rex" by Dr. W. Scott Persons IV, Harbour Publishing, 2020.

Glacialisaurus has a very fitting name - considering it was discovered in Antarctica. This early relative of the long-necked dinos is ~185my old and was roughly 6 meters (20ft) long. At the time, the continent was much warmer than now - full of conifers & ferns.

Glacialisaurus lived in Antarctica 190 million years ago. It was a long-necked herbivore adapted to polar forests. I illustrated it for my Visual Paleontology class (ages 11–15).

Some ideas I have would be:
- The Rutland Temnodontosaurus in Toarician England.
- Hanson Formation of Early Jurassic Antarctica, with Cryolophosaurus, Glacialisaurus and the ident fauna.
- Early Cretaceous China for a feathered dino ep.
- An ep at last about the Dinosaur Park, using Scorpio the (1)

@godfly.bsky.social Extremes in weather and meteorological events generally, melting glaciers everywhere, Glacialisaurus, they named a new dinosaur they found in a melting glacier, I guess. I love that 380MYA fosilised tropical forest in Arctic Svalbard. Extremes are becoming the norm, reflected in
