Numbers are waning, but every day there's something interesting... This week we've had Saltmarsh Knothorn and Hawthorn Tuft new for our Peterborough garden, our first Webb's Wainscot since 2011 and our second Dark-marked / Strawberry Tortrix agg.

13. Archanara sparganii (Esper) Globia sparganii (Esper, 1789) Webb’s Wainscot. Nationally Scarce B, denizen of fens, marshes & brackish ditches, using Iris pseudacorus, Typha & Sparganium as larval hosts, feeding within the stems. OTW July– Oct. larvae May–mid-Aug.

12. Archanara algae (Esper) Globia algae (Esper, 1789) Rush Wainscot. Nationally Scarce A. Denizen of ponds, gravel pits & fens, using Iris pseudacorus, Scirpus lacustris, & Typha spp. as hosts, feeding within the stems. OTW Aug–September; larvae late May–early Aug.

speaking of bluegrass, Steve Martin's latest with Alison Brown was also great, but most of my faves were on the heavier side - honourable mentions for new offerings from Soulwax, Antibalas, Author & Punisher, Pertubator, and Globia, and a nod to Creeper continuing to find their inner Meatloaf.
