Seyeon found that sex linked GoFlag probes were indeed common in bryos but were usually recent, each only in a few species. This pattern is consistent with frequent neo sex chromosome formation (fusions either autosomes). Interestingly they seem less common in liverworts and hornworts

After using the GoFlag probe set we discovered that some loci were sex linked in bryophytes. If sex linked dups were common it could cause topological conflict, but sex-aware analyses could produce better trees. Seyeon built the UVfinder to test if sex linked probes were common and widely shared
