@claudiac.bsky.social Love that you're learning about Dark Matter & Ancient Egypt. So fun!

I'm about Gobekli Tepe and ancient humans and also women leaders who brokered peace in the late 20th century up to the present.

The Hombre Búho & Hombre Ave, are two mountainside stone carvings of the Paracas culture of pre-Columbian Peru, predating the Aztec, Maya & Nazca cultures by a thousand years. Many cultural similarities exist between the Neolithic Revolution elders of Göbekli Tepe. Thank you.

Kurzgesagt just dropped a video that is basically cat nip for me. A 12,000 year arc of human history, gimme. It’s basically how I envision human history at all times. 2,026 years? Pshaw. Gimme your humans living at Göbekli Tepe stories from 11,000 years ago! What were silly little humans doing??

(4/6) about it. These are hardly your run-of-the-mill human faces! In my view, these pieces are echoes of encounters between ancient people and alien entities. It's a theory that mainstream scientists won’t entertain, but hey, they overlooked Göbekli Tepe’s significance for years before conceding

Pillar 33 at Gobekli Tepe 10th-9th millennium BCE (9500-8000 BCE), Turkey
Most have described it as snakes and a spider, but I have seen an online theory proposed that since the environment the time was wetlands these could be eals and crayfish.

I built a game that replaces doomscrolling with quizzes, hidden history, and brain puzzles
I kept catching myself doomscrolling, so I built something to replace it: **CurioQuest** , a free web game where curiosity earns you XP. 👉 **Try it:** https://curio-quest-phi.vercel.app/ ## What it does * 🏛️ **Forgotten Wonders:** stories about obscure history and nature mysteries (the Antikythera Mechanism, the Dancing Plague of 1518, Göbekli Tepe), each with a 3-question quiz * 🔬 **Science Fact Lab:** rapid true/false facts with sourced explanations and accuracy streak multipliers * 🧩 **Brain Games:** memory match, word scramble, math sprint, and a daily cipher puzzle * 🌍 **World & Tech Pulse:** live news cards plus a 3-question daily quiz Everything feeds one progression system: XP, unlimited levels, daily streaks with a calendar, 12 badges, 32+ collectible museum relics, and two leaderboards (points and streaks). ## How I built it * **Stack:** React + TypeScript, built with Google AI Studio and Gemini * **Live news:** a server-side endpoint calls Gemini with Google Search grounding, so cards come with citations and source links * **Feedback:** procedural sounds with the Web Audio API, haptics with `navigator.vibrate`, and confetti on rewards * **Auth:** salted and hashed passwords with session tokens, plus guest mode that saves progress when you sign in * **Hardening:** security headers, an in-memory rate limiter, and a request body size limit ## What I learned * Streak logic is trickier than it looks. Missed days, same-day logins, and migrating old saved state all needed careful handling. * I had fake multipliers on the leaderboard early on and replaced them with real per-day XP tracking, so the timeframes now come from actual activity. * Gemini works well for current-events content only when it's grounded with search and sources. ## Feedback welcome * Does the XP and leveling feel motivating or too grindy? * Which game mode or content category should come next? * Anything confusing or broken? Thanks for reading!

A new discovery at Göbekli Tepe could change how archaeologists understand one of the world’s oldest monumental sites. More than 11,000 years after people gathered there, we’re still uncovering clues about what they built and why.

I've been asked: what the earliest agreed archaeological evidence for making beer from cereals?

Gobekli Tepe is a good place to start. If you are looking for agreement among archaeologists.

Cereals. Feasting. Hot stone technology. Beerstone or calcium oxalate.

Was Beer Brewed at Göbekli Tepe? The Evidence | Göbekli Tepe
Stone troughs with calcium oxalate residues suggest fermentation. Six vessels held 160+ liters—evidence of brewing thousands of years before written history.

Okay, but have you heard about Göbekli Tepe?
It suggests that civilization came first, then agriculture, instead of the reverse as has previously been thought.
Also, it's way more advanced than it should be at that age and suggests society started way earlier.
