Fellini, Almodóvar, Godard, Lang, the Coens
You’re locked inside a movie theater for 24 hours. You can only watch movies directed by one director the entire time.

Whose filmography are you choosing? #TCMParty #filmsky

Abascal habría censurado todo el cine de Godard, Warhol, Fellini, Berlanga etc etc. Con eso lo digo todo

Respect came from France: Jean-Luc Godard dedicated Breathless (1960) to Monogram Pictures, the same studio that released tonight's film. The French New Wave saw art where Hollywood saw cheap filler. #TheNoirCollective

Somehow Paul Godard survives 😒

I think the reason he made it was because he both admired Godard, but also thought he wasn't deep enough. Maybe he wanted to show Godard how to do it right?

What Marxists and other puritans have never wanted to allow for is the fun to be had with the material goodies that capitalism produces (such as entertaining movies). Godard knew it, recognized that alienation wasn't all torment. (1982)

If it’s a choice between NYT and Ellison or Musk or Netflix, I must choose NYT.

To quote Godard quoting Faulkner:
“Between grief and nothing, I must choose grief.”
The New York Times is now in exclusive talks to acquire for Letterboxd for around $330M.

I got the impression Welles couldn't stand the work of either Godard or Antonioni. Picky little bugger
