During my first lesson, my instructor had one key change for me. He had me keep my trail arm (right arm) closer to my side. Less chicken wing and more structure. That made a big difference for me. I saw an immediate impact on the course #golf #golfer #golfbluesky #firstswing #lessons

Not quite a bowed wrist..The left wrist can be more flat or even bowed with this. Helps get the club face into a better position on the way down and at impact. My swing has changed a lot in 2 years. When I first took lessons I had quite the big chicken wing with my trail arm, there was a little rotation in the hips but not a lot, feet were close together, and I was over the top. You can see how big of a left to right path the ball takes #golf #golfbluesky

This year I’ve struggled with getting my weight forward in the swing. I would hang back and still be over the top. Started using the pressure plate from whygolf and it has helped the swing a ton! Got me moving my weight forward and hitting better shots #golf #golfer #golfbluesky

In my second lesson, I learned more about hip rotation. You can see here that I’m rotating the hips through the swing. The big thing that helped was thinking of the lead knee bending so the hips can rotate. No more swaying! Just like dancing, it’s all in the hips #golf #golfer #golfbluesky #lessons

Worked on the 60 wedge today. Started with the weight forward, 70/30. Not going for a full swing but more of a 3/4 swing. Shoulder to shoulder. Trying to go for a low hook. Ball will stick to the face a little longer, have more spin, & do a one hop and stop #golf #golfer #golfbluesky #golfsky

Still getting some 50 degree days here in Kansas, but it’s basically the end of the season. Tough year.
