The goondocks would have been forclosed on because it would have taken decades of litigation to determine ownership of one eye Willy's fortune.
we had decades of the cultural zeigeist in larges parts of entertainment and academia being 'you can't trust THE MAN' and it did absolutely nothing whatsoever to make people more resistant to actual no-shit authoritarian and corrupt politics and leaders, and I wish more people would reflect on this.
I do think this is a really insidious result of all of the “government is useless and corrupt” propaganda that’s been pushed over the years - people don’t realize how much worse these assholes have made it

I didn’t realize Goondocks (Thr Goonies) took place in Oregon. I always assumed it was in Massachusetts. Were there many pirates in the Pacific Ocean? Was One-Eyed-Willy from Mongolia?

Yup. Kitten successfully transferred from one tree to another. I still have questions, though. Why all the fuss? I've never seen a kitten resist relocation with such determination. Was it the squirrel equivalent of moving out of the Goondocks, or something more fraught? Any ideas? (16/16) 🦊

I used to go on adventures to Astoria and pretend I was a Goonie. Getting to Haystack Rock is a little far though so I then pretend I’m at the school in Kindergarten Cop just down the street from the Goondocks.

Actual people have determined the Goonies movie probably happened the same day Marty McFly went Back to the Future, meaning Marty's manipulation of time may have been the reason the Goondocks were saved at all. Makes sense to me.
