not liking that i got assigned to lead a project that needed to be done in a week that then got reset at the end of day 1 and paused for most of day 2 before getting doubled in size as just a random junior govie

I think the flip side is that a contractor is immensely easier to remove, either individually, or company-wide, than a govie.

Last time, Trump & Co forced out many career diplomats. It's why the nation lacked the necessary expertise to perform an orderly withdrawal when the time came. As a career govt guy, I strongly encourage every govie who can to retire immediately. Otherwise, defer and move to the private sector awhile
