Lo compré de salida para mi ps2 y me gustó, pero, la verdad, me gusta más el Gradius III en esa recopilación. En PS2 y PS mis preferidos serían, en orden: GradiusV, Gaiden, III y IV.

Okami is one of my favourite games: but I can't say the PS2 is the best place to play it when there's a 4K version much more easily accessible.

So here's 2 (with alt text for more info) that are trapped on the PS2*

Gradius V

This did appear on the PSN store via the PS3 (I believe) at some point. But now seems to be gone. And Konami seems to hate it. Like I do wonder if there'll never be a Gradius VI because that would have to acknowledge Gradius V existed, a game that is often praised as the best Gradius game while being made by Treasure or some pride based BS.

Every Gradius collection omits it. And it never seems to be celebrated by Konami themselves.

Gradius IV had a lot of pressure to be a game worthy of a number. It was not. It was a step back from Gaiden and then V obliterated it.

Gradius V is the utter peak of Gradius. Practically perfect in every way. One of the best horizontal (non-bullet hell) shmups ever made.

The Red Star

Apparently based on the comic of the same name, the Red Star is a fantastic mix of Ikaruga meets Streets of Rage. A top down arcade version of Nier Automata in a way.

I have no idea why the game was made with the license it was because I'm yet to meet anyone who knew of the comic before the game. And people who know of the game are rather few as it is.

It's troubled release schedule (thanks to Akklaim going bust and all that Jazz) probably didn't help.

Apparently this did get a PSP port but the PSP version removed the co-op mode and made it into a single player only affair 😔

Gradius V, the beloved PS2 game from Konami, has been permanently delisted from the PS Store.

Citing software license expiry, Konami has no plans to revive or port the game to modern consoles.

Owners retain access, but it's gone for new buyers.
