製図用シャープペンシルで思い出したが、PILOT の H-1095 はいつの間にか廃盤になっていた模様。
シャープペンシルは可能な限り金属部品で出来ていた方が良いという派なのである意味理想的な製品の一つではあったのだが。
中学時代は、シャープペンシルは学校では持ち込み禁止だったので家でのみ使っていて、何かに夢中になって書き出すと手に力が入り過ぎるのが分かっていたので、軸の頑丈なシャープペンシルが必要だった。それで高校に入った頃にちょっと良いやつを使おうと思って買ったのが確か、ぺんてるのGRAPH500。

私もコラボさせて頂いたスーパーコンピュータ「富岳」が、グラフ解析の性能ランキングの #Graph500 において、5年連続で1位を獲得🎖 (10期連続)

前回(2024年5月)の性能から38.038 TeraTEPS(約23%)向上し、今回はなんと204 TeraTEPSと、世界で初めて200 TeraTEPSを上回りました。

理化学研究所と富士通が共同開発しているスーパーコンピューターの「富岳」が、世界のスーパーコンピューターランキングである「High Performance Conjugate Gradient(HPCG)」および「Graph500」で、7期連続で世界1位を獲得しました。なお、他のスーパーコンピューターランキングである「TOP500」では第2位、「HPL-MxP」では第3位でした。さらに、富士通は東京工業大学、東北大学、理化学研究所と協力して、富岳を用いて大規模言語モデル(LLM)の分散並列学習手法の研究開発に取り組むことも発表しています。4者は日本の研究者やエンジニアがLLMの開発に活用できるように、今回の富岳政策対応枠で得られた研究成果を、2024年度にGitHubやHugging Faceを通じて公開する予定です。

スパコンの見た目は、サーバルームやデータセンターにあるサーバの数々と大した違いはないです(当方には見分け付かないです)。

磁気テープは姿形は違えども、現代でも(データセンターで使われているように)生き載っているようですけど。
