Often described as a clean fuel, the climate impact of #greenhydrogen depends on how it is made.

Most hydrogen used today is #greyhydrogen, produced from natural gas and linked to carbon emissions. #Greenhydrogen is made using renewable electricity, but remains a much smaller share of production.

Sorry, 95% of hydrogen is from hydrocarbons: 60% of #H2 is from steam methane reforming of natural gas #greyhydrogen, and 35% is from coal gasification #blackhydrogen (mainly in China.) Both processes release CO2.
