But when I go this one Asian grocer, they always seem surprised when I go in there and ask for stuff

"Oh, you're making Chinese? Oh, you're making Korean?"
"Um... yes? Why do you think i'm in your store? Do other white people not come in here?"

Indescribable feeling to the Weeknd record from the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack playing not once, but twice in the Korean grocer

Great-Grandpa was a mean son of bitch, and a tough piece of gristle. He spent 1900-1907 in the Louisiana State Penitentiary for shooting (and killing) a grocer he owed. The grocer was allegedly armed as well and G-g-pa said it was a fair fight. I doubt it.

Es que un "grocery" es un supermercado normal y corriente. Y que yo sepa, en castellano antiguo seguiría siendo "mercado", mientras que en inglés "grocery" viene de "bienes vendidos por un mayorista -grocer-".🤔

Never thought I'd roll up to the local grocer and spot a 12oz $53 STORE BRAND bag of coffee

Kinda glad I became deathly allergic

We may be switching from Publix to Winn-Dixie for our main shopping. Winn-Dixie’s prices appear to be a bit lower than Publix and they had a float in the Pride parade yesterday. (No other grocer did.)

Grocer: You have rice. I need rice. I know you have rice, and I know where the rice was the last time I needed rice. Moving the rice somewhere else just makes it harder for me to give you money in exchange for the rice. That’s not good for you or for me.

The fanciest store-brand that you can buy at your local grocer.

Replying to this one as a QRP because I figured others might be interested in my answer.

Hardcore plotter here (though I will gladly adjust my plot as I go if I think of better ideas).

I start with a bunch of bullet points in a Word document (see image). This goes on for several pages

I used it to transcribe ancient pages from the Cambridge MA deed books (they have them going all the way back to 17th c.) and to trace the history of the lot I live on.

Turns out it was bought and a house built on it by a schoolteacher in the 1880s, who later married a grocer. Farmland before that.
A running list of uses I've found for LLMs that are not "write my emails for me" or "write some code".
1. When I first taught my class, I either had time for lecture notes or slides. LLMs took my lecture notes, converted them into draft slides, that I then cleaned up and put into my style.

Yeah I've seen these too, seems amazing to live above your grocer. There's even a costco in LA I think that has units above. But I imagine its far riskier and difficult to pull off compared to a normal 5/1 and you'd need a tenant 100% committed to the location before you break ground.

I have been low key in battle of wills with my local green grocer for two years about their lack of Canadian products. The last six months there has been a gradual change.

Found all these there today, including strudel from a Scarborough bakery (!)
