#GrossOut
Read an article that basically boiled the horror genre down to "things happen for no reason aside from the grossout spectacle" and got so mad I'm going to have to go stand in the backyard

it was made in the early 2000s so grossout humor is still on the table on occasion

plus it balances out some of the other food being so amazing

But it is also kind of deadly, and maybe it’s easier to stay excited in a crowd but it always gets pretty boring by the end. Its array of post-EXORCIST grossout effects scenes is so randomly put together,

Chainsmoker Cat/Yani Neko (2026)
Enjoyable anime if you’re not put off by grossout/lewd humor. The racism towards beastfolk throughline sure is something. There’s some touching moments in there too.
9/10.

They would have totally gotten TMNT in 1993 instead of USA.

Not only was this around the time they were picking up more "mainstream" shows like Muppet Babies and Tiny Toons, not only did it fit the more grossout and silly tone of Nick...

...but the Turtles also did ads for them in the early 90s.

I don't even LIKE stuffing as a subgenre and this story had me completely hooked. Even if you're not really into WG even, it's still worth a read, because the story is just THAT GOOD. (Minor bits of grossout content with the villain near the end though, fair warning. (But she deserved it))

I have this terrible memory of seeing a video with eels some time in the late 90s on one of the grossout websites that used to be so popular, but I'm afraid to interrogate that memory.

There were some jokes I liked but I have limits with grossout humor

Incredibly gorgeous throughout, screamingly funny at times, strong vocal performances, unafraid of grossout punchlines, steeped in Filipino mythology. Pacing feels breakneck & the Dreamworks reliance on licensed music more a weakness than a strength IMO. Overall quite good

Yani Neko

peak cringe grossout comedy, i didnt expect to love this like i did??? i think this one is misunderstood honestly its so thoughtful and empathetic but with all the smoking and booze and drugs and shit and puke and sex and humiliation jokes abound i guess i can see why people would miss it

... ALSO I think that other than like, basil wolverton, I have not seen the Grossout Closeup used in **comics** at all

I'm considering doing some 90s grossout design of some friends and moots for the month of spooks and freaks, wanna come?

Damn! That is pretty good!

I was really surprised by this movie. The story, the characters, the visuals, all top notch. The jokes were good too, though there was a bit more grossout humor than I’d prefer. Even so, it’s a great time; go see it!

A fun little grossout comedy with a crazy cast. Feels very "Family Guy" in some ways. Doesn't always hit, but it was a fine watch.

“This movie is great fun… a funny, horrific grossout.” Gene Siskel

grossout comedy but there's a lot of interesting themes in this show and it gets pretty dark

the two most recent episodes have been my favorite this season and i waited to watch them until my friends were out of the house today

should i feel bad for laughing at stuff that also is upsetting

Thought it was really interesting how all the grossout stuff was like a physical manifestation of his anxieties around his girlfriend's pregnancy. Put my little film student hat on. The only thing I wasn't really sold on was the ending (too bleak/mean imo) but otherwise it ruled

for the record: i grew up in the 2000s, i don't hate grossout toys. i just don't think this one is particularly clever or charming. but also i'm way past the target demographic so who's to say (even if i still love potty humour)
September 21, 2026 at 12:16 PM
Yeah definitely a great grossout time! I’m already looking forward to the next watch.

I think the 2010s were more of a backlash to the 2000s which was the decade where 90s anti-consumerism, disaffection and countering of sanitised Evangelical conservativism got warped into nihilistic misogyny, racism and grossout. So 2010s pop culture rejected nihilism and valorised inclusiveness

Kamui squeaking in on the fun of its no-budget shorts over a pack of These Were Fine's and the otherwise guaranteed Chainsmoker getting an early boot for hitting hitting personal grossout buttons.
