So sweet, groundcrew have drawn a snow angel. The wings look a little too far back, but splendid effort.

So cute, groundcrew have drawn a Snow Angel. If I was being really picky, I'd say the wings are a little far back, but it's wonderful all the same.

Some more colour images! Firstly, Aircraftman Jim Birkett and Leading Aircraftman Wally Passmore working on the Merlin engine of a Spitfire of 241 Squadron RAF in Southern Italy, January 1944. 241 were mainly engaged on ground attack and armed recon missions.

Please be careful of the polish all over the floor. It's very slippery and easy to skid on it. And by Polish we mean Józef Ržegocki from groundcrew, who walked straight into a propellor a few minutes ago.

Some interest in a #Vulcan 'groundcrew' item posted in another place - that we thought we'd share here a few more 'crew' photos from the #NAMarchive

Battle being bombed up by groundcrew wearing anti-gas clothing, presumably for a training exercise. No doubt some choice words were used! The aircraft had cells in the wings capable of carrying 4x250lb bombs, or external racks could hold a maximum of 1,500lb.

Groundcrew check a Beaufort of 217 Squadron RAF, prior to a sortie from Luqa, Malta. Note the twin .303 Vickers Ks in the nose and the aerial of the ASV radar underneath, as well as a torpedo in its distinctive semi-recessed mounting. This aircraft was shot down on 20th June 1942

Groundcrew from an unidentified Beaufort squadron loading (or unloading) a torpedo. The perspex ‘blister’ under the nose housed a single rear-firing Browning 0.303 machine gun, found to be of little use in practice and often removed.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN 85: 21st October 1940. The fog and low cloud returned, providing opportunities for lone Luftwaffe aircraft to attack during the day with little chance of being intercepted. Bombs fell in seemingly random areas including Weymouth, Bedford and Bournemouth.
