Also Groupwork has always been (famously!) good it’s just that their architecture is being seen as the future now

This wobbly-looking high-rise Stonehenge is the future
Built from three-tonne slabs of load-bearing rock, a new London apartment block makes a dramatic case for a greener alternative to concrete, balancing scale and sophistication with sheer chutzpah

nm, the details actually make it sound like it's the most conventional part of the building:
Groupwork completes "world-first" 10-storey high rise held up by stone exoskeleton
A thousand tonnes of volcanic rock replace concrete and steel in Petra Heights, a housing development in north London designed by architecture firm Groupwork and engineers Webb Yates.

Sad high five of the person who did all the groupwork for every project ever. Once I wound up in a class with three other people who did all the groupwork for every project ever. We recognized each other instantly on a spiritual level and teamed up. It was blissful.

This is an important building by Groupwork Architecture

1,000 tonnes of solid volcanic rock provide the structure for this 10-storey apartment building, massively reducing steel and concrete

This could be used up to 30 storeys, to create new housing and reduce emissions
September 8, 2026 at 7:02 AM
Not only that, but the exterior elevator tower (which is a gray structure in photos) was built with massive prefabricated segments that were assembled on site in less than two days.

Utility core is conventional stone blocks. www.dezeen.com/2026/09/07/s...

My colleagues Ashley Robertson, Wil Toivo & Maxine Swingler have developed a fantastic resource for supporting group work in diverse groups where students must talk about and agree on how they will approach a task and communication etc.
Instructor resources available at osf.io/6fsyp/

It's so incredibly normal for people struggling with regulation, traumatic activation and SH/suicide to feel ambivalent. The system treats themselves with ambivalence. Trust in groupwork needs to be built with welcoming people in *and boundaries around the existing trust.

Tricky area groupwork. Maybe another topic for a future chat @suebecks.bsky.social
#LTHEchat A4 Build confidence in group work so - group assignments; presentations with 360 degree marking - so all accomplished on the day; in-class group production of required formats like reports - marked collectively in class with perhaps brief individual reflections on the process marked.
Q4: What strategies might be used to make feedback manageable for assessors? #LTHEchat

A4 examples of modules (and their assessments) where there are no race awarding gaps. In my own practice I found scaffolded groupwork eliminated awarding gaps #LTHEchat
