Everyday new native flowers coming out on my #Allotment. Today the lovely Forget-me-not & Germander speedwell showed their pretty little faces, both important nectar sources 4 insects & joining the other super stars in helping 2 feed our early bees & bumblebees 🐝🐝🐝 #Letnativeplantsgrow #Grow4Insects

This one small hump of #WildMarjoram is a real haven for butterflies, moths, hoverflies & other flies, flower beetles + tiny creatures such as ants, aphids & spiders. In turn they help feed our birds, esp in the nesting season.

You might see the meetings of little gems!

old Cherry tree & Goat Willow as do Great & Blue tits; after all they are woodland birds adapting to our gardens due to dearth of woods in the UK.
Today the C doves were in the Cherry tree or on the fence giving me a stare-out 🤔

Insects tell us which flowers they prefer .. here are 3 yellow flower on April 2nd on my #allotment.

Flower number 3/4 may be lovely 2 human eyes but it is always empty .. no sweet nectar or nutritious pollen—or any number of things that pollinators like.

The yellow #tulips have been in bloom for 2 weeks. They're a hardy lot that I never cut & have bloomed in mid spring for years. Was hoping they'd just die out. However, these last weeks I decided to check on which #insects had visited.
Zero! Not even an aphid. Your time's up guys!

can actually help by NOT rushing to the nearest plant nurseries for the instant exotic show stoppers but by planning early in the year to sow and grow more of our naturally occurring plants.
