The Gulfarium in Ft. Walton Beach was a big deal back in the 60s. It introduced me to marine life as a kid.

There's hammerhead sharks in these waters too...

Tuesday needed a double dose of #goodnews. Marine biologist Tabitha Siegfried from the Gulfarium CARE Center spotted a sea turtle struggling to swim in the Gulf of Mexico.

It was covered with hundreds of barnacles which took 3 months to remove. She's recovered & has been released. Happy ending! 😊

These two photos were taken nowhere near each other - one at the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach and the other in New Orleans.

I feel that they compliment each other quite well.

Aw, memories. My mom used to have a 160 gallon aquarium that housed a pacu. Nice community fish, never bothered anyone. He eventually got to dinner-plate size, and she had to re-home him to the Gulfarium.

6/If you do this once a year (twice if Poughkeepsie), you'll find it SUSTAINS your relationship. You'll have inside jokes and memories that only you share. Take pictures, sure, but you're not filming a documentary. Believe it or not, it's OK to have memories that live in your head and nowhere else.

Yeah, they live west of me, on the way to Pensacola. Well, they are not really mine, per se, but I absolutely consider them friends and great mood lifters. There were three when I moved here, now there are four at the Gulf Breeze Zoo. Their pen is adjacent to the road. New manatees at Gulfarium.
