as someone who's had people drift in and out of her life over her 31 years on earth, Gunbusters focus on time dilation and the way it separates reunions by years and decades hit home. Beautifully animated, efficient in its emotional storytelling, I can't give it enough praise. It's Peak I'm Afraid.

GunBusters is so awesome. Keep in mind this is before Doom introduced the FPS deathmatch. While this takes a lot of cues from lightgun games, the joystick+gun setup allows for mouse+WASD style control (gun aims/turns, stick walks/strafes).
Well ahead of its time but never gets credit.

More audio recorded for my video on Every FPS Ever Made in Japan.

So much to this show is masterful usages of terms, like Topless having multiple meanings itself tying back into the original Gunbusters big conclusive scene while also talking in a Kill la KIll-esque faction about the nakedness of human spirit. I am at loss of words sometimes. I loved Diebuster.
107. DIEBUSTER
FLCL is my favorite anime of all time, this was like learning it had 6 more episodes that I had never seen before. Its almost not fair to say I love Diebuster more then the original Gunbuster because so much about it caters to my loves and tastes and it concludes in a phenomenal way.

Too bad. Of these, Gunbusters is only 6 episodes long and Bubblegum Crisis is just OVAs. Those are easy to cover. Frieren is going to have a second season next month or so.
