"That was the story of Vincent Lingiari
But this is the story of something much more
How power & privilege can not move a people
Who know where they stand, & stand in the law

From little things, big things grow"

51 years today since the Wave Hill Handback. Whitlam said "I want this to acknowledge that we Australians have still much to do to redress the injustice and oppression that has for so long been the lot of Black Australians".

We still have so much to do.

The Gurindji strike (Wave Hill Walk-Off) is an interesting period including the lead up to it. The way the Vestey Brothers exploited the First Nations peoples was pretty appalling. This may have been covered by other authors though. Hugely significant.
