Odd comp with a bunch of early/mid-80s post-punk. Hagar the Womb, Gymslips, 3 Johns, 1000 Mexicans. Originally a Abstract Records comp, I think. I'd love to know more about this. I got it when I was a pup, and it was incredibly influential for me.

Actually school uniforms have ALWAYS adopted the activewear of their periods. We think of blazers & gymslips as formal now but the clue is in the word - gym - those were clothes picked to be more suitable for active life than the cumbersome garments (especially for girls) of the early-mid 20th C.
I would guess that schools adopting more "active" uniforms is now being reported because it's just happened at a school where a BBC reporter is a parent. My daughter's school did this about 35 years ago!
