Looked at a pretty interesting marketing term for this week's Hamsterdam Marketing post: "Category Entry Points" ethanlazuk.com/blog/lets-ta...

TL;DR: CEP creates the human information need, the prompt expresses that need, while query fanout decomposes that need into IR tasks. 🐹✌️

Have held off on the last couple of episodes of The Wire rewatch as wanted to savour them.
In just over an hour you have Omar & Brother Mouzone stand off, Superintendent Rawls frequenting the same Gay Bar as Omar, Hamsterdam coming out, Stringer Bell becoming an informant and then meeting his end. 👌

Season 4 was my favorite but I go back and forth on whether season 2 or 3 is my second.

I always thought 3 deserves a bit of the criticism for being unrealistic that season 5 so often gets — I enjoyed Hamsterdam but when you think about it it’s almost as ridiculous as the fake serial killer.

For this week's Hamsterdam Research, I summarized "Query Implied Generative Engine Optimization": ethanlazuk.com/blog/summari...

TLDR: Instead of starting with a query, QI-GEO looks at entities & relationships in a doc to find missing info that could improve its visibility in generative search.

Collicio, or however you spell it. He's the one that put the knife in Hamsterdam, with the bad haircut. He eventually gets reported by Carver. That dude has ICE all over him.

The NY Times lists Breaking Bad as the best TV series in the 21st century. It lists The Wire as second. With all due respect to BB, no. The Wire *is* America.

Great call. Also on the TV front, season 3 of THE WIRE (Hamsterdam):
- Armed US forces invade civilian neighborhoods and forcibly relocate people to camps, then act surprised when things go bad
- Rigging the stats to sell a war to the media
- “If it’s a lie, then we fight on that lie.”
TV wise, THE SHIELD documents the horrors of post-9/11 life, policing, bigotry and survellence in a way that simultaniously documents the bleakness of the culture and continues to resonate in the aftermath.
Short answer: Spielberg made multiple very good movies about 9/11 (MINORITY REPORT, THE TERMINAL, WAR OF THE WORLDS, MUNICH)

118. The Wire S3

Vive Hamsterdam
