Cyrus is ruler to the Medians and Persians by blood, but this is the end of the Median country basically. He starts expanding Persian rule with Harpagos as one of his generals, conquers majority of Asia Minor and even takes Babylon in an ingenious feat, basically without a siege

but Harpagos does not forgive and forget, so he keeps in Cyrus' good graces until he is grown enough, and he convinces him to take revenge on his grandfather........by sending a letter hidden inside a rabbit carcass? ok

Harpagos and the sheperd are busted, Astyages is a deranged old mad king, but he still doesn't have the balls to kill his own kin so he sends Cyrus away to his parents, who thought he was dead all that time
