I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have issues playing HEVC back on macOS (including on, but not limited to, Resolume for the VJs)... add tags to your files. -c:v copy -tag:v hvc1

The HEVC organization is raising its licensing fees by four cents per unit, so HP and Dell responded by disabling HEVC hardware support in its business laptops—tanking the ability for these laptops to do anything with video.

Straight-up: This is a scandal.
