The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) Certification Act, passed out of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee today, is designed in such a way that it basically immediately and permanently removes the HKETO from the USA.

We urge the UK to build on this by assessing whether the HKETO is consistent with Britain’s national security interests and including China in the enhanced tier of FIRS.
