Obsessed with all my homestays having old lady warm tone bathrooms
homestays used to be a big thing but I suspect that the US/JAP ones aren't as big as they used to be
A couple of decades ago while I was in HS we had a partner school from SK that sent their students to ours as part of a cultural exchange program, they'd stay a few weeks or so in the country. Part of the effort was so they could learn English.
Never heard of a Japanese school doing that.

i get so mad when people leave negative reviews for hotels/homestays when it’s like ‘omg there were so many bugs in my room’ YOURE IN SE ASIA AND ITS A CABIN BY THE BEACH!!! ‘the facilities were really basic and the WiFi was slow’ YOU PAID THE EQUIVALENT OF $15 A NIGHT!!!
