IMO...
HP1 is a very good MG novel.
HP2 is damn nearly the same story. I smell deadline panic.
HP3 has interesting ideas poorly communicated.
HP4 is the last decent book JKR wrote.
HP5 *desperately* needed lots more editing/massive cuts.
HP6 is just an infodump.
HP7 is a chimera of half-baked ideas.

Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Hab gestern HP7 angefangen zu lesen, tatsächlich Erstlesung.
Nach all der ganzen JKR Debatte (die absolut schrecklich ist!) fühle ich mich immer noch sehr schlecht sowas zu lesen. Aber die Geschichte is einfach meine Kindheit 😔❤️🩹

Hab gestern HP7 angefangen zu lesen, tatsächlich Erstlesung.

Es chtěla nechat kluky, ať mají klid a protože výjimečně byl prázdný gauč, tak jsem ho roztáhla a koukáme na HP7/1 😁 a já šmíruju #Gomez přes GPS, páč ten blboň si ustlal v louce za barákem 🤦🏻♀️

On sait que l'histoire ne se passe pas dans notre monde parce que le 01/09 tombe toujours un dimanche (HP1 4, HP2 2, HP3 1, HP4 4, HP5 9, HP6 4, HP7 12). 7 années où le calendrier est parfaitement aligné sur les jours de la semaine, en fait 8 car 19 ans plus tard, le 01/09 est encore un dimanche.

Which is why I think a lot of the reader side is just "people blindly justifying the thing they already wanted to do." you recall that thread where YA enthusiasts said why they read only YA and every excuse was not even true? Like "real books are too long", when HP7 was insanely bloated.
