The conflation of "SDoH" and health-related social needs (HRSN) is a perpetual annoyance of mine
I wasn't a fan of "social determinants of health" (SDoH) in the sense that it was often misused by clinicians, but "non-clinical and upstream drivers of health" is somehow more nebulous.

Patient billed $8 for a health-related social needs (HRSN) questionnaire he completed prior to his medical appointment
Surprise! Your health care provider added a fee for that questionnaire you filled out
Some doctors now bill patients for surveys that screen for problems. Patients say they should not be charged for checking a few boxes.

1115 waivers have created beautiful snowflakes in states to allow flexibility and innovation in the Medicaid program. Anything from the Oregon Coverage expansions (the best), to Massachusetts doing things, to North Carolina’s HRSN work.

That's good for down the line. I was just approved for HRSN, a program only implemented this year to help keep low income disabled people out of homelessness, and I am set to receive rent/utility assistance for six months.

I got screwed over by HRSN and now I’m getting evicted. Can you help that not happen? Anything y’all can do, including sharing, would be amazing.
