Sur les violences des groupuscules d’extrême droite lors de la manifestation du 24 octobre, le ministre de l’Intérieur affirme qu’il n’y a eu « aucune complaisance » des forces de l’ordre et qu’il y aura bien « des actions judiciaires ».

Lead-free superlattices on silicon host ordered polar vortices for the first time. Their striped pattern disappears on heating and reforms on cooling to room temperature. doi.org/hcpvp8
Patterns of polar vortices discovered in lead-free superlattices on silicon
A team at HZB has, for the first time, reported polar vortices in (BaTiO₃/SrTiO₃)₁₀ superlattices on silicon. These results expand the range of materials and substrates on which polar topological textures can occur and open up new options for incorporating complex ferroelectric states into silicon-based technologies.

The first application of THz-EPR on Fe(II) spin crossover samples was recently performed at our facility and published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition. Happy that I could support in these pioneering experiments.

strips, which are wrapped in silk and glued together.

A team at the HZB was able to partially reveal the writing on the strips without damaging the scrolls by unrolling them.
Using 3D X-ray tomography, they created a digital copy of the scroll

This'll be super useful in like 500 years when we've finally drawn down all of the excess carbon in the atmosphere and stored it somewhere safe and stable and need to be able to modulate the CO2 level to accommodate Milanković cycles.
