🪷 14 July #NationalNudeDay: "The Discus Thrower" (Diskobolus) 1889 by Polish artist Stefan Bakalowicz 1857-1947. It shows a nude youth resembling #Antinous with a discus in front of a "herme" which appears to be a bust of #Hadrian in a setting which could be #HadriansVilla. 🪷

Hadrian was quite a visionary. Took the first pic of the “Pecile” at #HadriansVilla during a trip in August, but the second image is what it would have looked like originally! It was built so the emperor and his guests had a place to take a walk “outdoors”, no matter the weather.🤯
