Talking Heads, the iconic American rock band, have reunited for a special Q&A session hosted by Este Haim to launch their new SiriusXM radio station, 'Talking Heads Radio', which officially debuts on October 1, 2026. The event marks one of the rare occasions in recent years where all four original members—David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, and Tina Weymouth—gathered together, reflecting on their musical journey spanning over 50 years since the band's formation. During the Q&A, the band members discussed their creative process, emphasizing their commitment to artistic innovation and their distinctive chemistry. Keyboardist Jerry Harrison noted that each album was approached with a different methodology, aiming to create new challenges rather than repeating past successes. David Byrne expressed pride in their work, acknowledging that their music has maintained relevance and continues to find new audiences. Bassist Tina Weymouth highlighted their 'sense of humour' as a key differentiator, while drummer Chris Frantz stressed their dedication to prioritizing artistic integrity over commercial success. The new radio station will feature exclusive content, including deep cuts from their catalogue, personal favourite songs, and curated guest DJ sets from artists such as U2's Adam Clayton, Foo Fighters' Nate Mendel, and The Linda Lindas. The Q&A session, which will air on SiriusXM today at 12pm ET, follows the band's first public appearance together in over 20 years at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, where they celebrated the anniversary of their concert film 'Stop Making Sense'. Despite past discussions about potential reunions, David Byrne has previously dismissed the idea of recreating the band's early 2000s experience, stating it would be 'a fool's errand'. However, the band's current collaboration reflects a renewed interest in celebrating their legacy. David Byrne has also been active in his solo career, releasing a new album in September 2025 and preparing to launch his book 'Sleeping Beauties' in October 2026. The launch of 'Talking Heads Radio' coincides with the band's 50th anniversary, offering fans a unique opportunity to engage with their music and history through exclusive content and storytelling.
