🌳 The current owners of Hamgreen Wood have carefully managed the woodland rides over the past thirty years.

When the time came for them to sell, they knew BBOWT had the expertise to care for their precious land.

🌳 Ancient woodland is a rare and irreplaceable habitat. Once a dominant habitat, it now covers less than 2.5% of the UK.

Hamgreen Wood contains one of the largest remaining examples of ancient woodland in the area.

🦇 Did you know, unlike many other bats, Bechstein’s bats use woodland almost exclusively for feeding and roosting?

Hamgreen Wood is one of only a few roosting sites in the region - so it’s central to the survival of the species here.

Great appeal here to protect a fantastic ancient woodland in Buckinghamshire. I've just walked through this landscape – the ancient royal hunting forest of Bernwood is being bisected by HS2 – and it is a magical area. Good luck @bbowt.bsky.social! www.bbowt.org.uk/news/wildlif...

Will you help us to protect this special site for generations to come?
