Inspired by @JimCMackintosh @HamishMatters, I now have my own copy of 'Elegies For the Dead in Cyrenaica' by Hamish Henderson. In the 1948 foreword, the Scottish war poet says of North Africa, 'the desert is our common enemy'.

In November 2022, we are presenting a live performance event, 'Puir Bliddy Swaddies' @ScotStoryCentre devoted to Scottish Poets of the #SWW, including the work of Hamish Henderson @HamishMatters and Sorley MacLean. Watch this space!
