POV (as the kids say these days: you've gotten a new little mold for a zipper and you've had this idea for a vase but you haven't gotten around to making time for your idea yet but then you have a friend who casually mentioned needing maybe a new vase to hold her knitting needles and BOOM, you find the time. Above is part one; handbuilding the vase (I love that zipper, let me tell you!). Below is part two, glazing, and showing it off finished at the end. Enjoy! Thanks, y'all! And let me know if you'd like to see more of these, or that texture and zipper on something else!

There is nothing more discouraging than spending hours centering clay only to watch it collapse because your loop tool was too dull or your wire cutter lacked the right tension. After sixteen years…

I really do love making these little trinket dishes... however, these were done with the clay I had trouble with, so there were a couple that warped in the kiln. I'm trying to look at it as a chance to make more, rather than failed work. But meanwhile, watch me make them! Part One, above, is the handbuilding. Part Two, below, is the glazing, and the finished pieces at the end. If you're interested in seeing more photos, or even buying one (or three), you can find them here. Thanks, y'all!
