Water supply of strategic Baltic island Gotland was sabotaged last night.
Someone broke into the pump controls and destroyed them.
The pumps serve a large part of Gotland (pop 61k) and had it gone unnoticed could have left all island without water.
Security services are notified. Water is ok.

notably in China which *doesn't* have those licensing requirements 'plumber' and 'electrician' barely exist; instead you have generalized handymen (often attached to housing compounds). This produces extremely cheap service but also *frequently* incompetent service.
It's telling that most of the trades that draw high wages are the ones that have very restrictive pipelines for licensing. You can't just take a training course and start working as an electrician, it's years and years of training and apprenticeships before you can make real money
This is a lesson for those trying to to flood people into the trades via tech schools. Plumbers won't get paid much if too many graduate!

check out the absolute ratshit job geneapolis III did on this mosaic repair, it’s amazing how much DIY handymen of today have in common with their counterparts from a thousand years ago, like being blind and not having thumbs
