People gonna play Sonic Dream Team and realize it’s like a 7/10 it neat but not the most insane thing people hyped up.
The biggest impact it has to me is Hardlight made a Sonic game after years of phone game autorunners and it’s pretty competent.We need another dev team that can a small Sonic game

I feel like the SEGA Hardlight team must've made their own take on the "Hedgehog Engine" from scratch because holy hell it feels good. A lot better than other 3D Sonic games. Like, landing on the ground in that game feels really good and gives you options, unlike other mainline games.

.. And it is seemingly indestructible.
The only issue is if something hits it hard enough to hit Salvia anyways.

While I do like the game a bit more, it's not enough to say that I fully liked it. Like it makes me want to see Hardlight get another go at a 3D Sonic game that's not exclusive to a mobile platform.

yeah in retrospect it wasn't anything amazing but it was still a pretty good showcase of what hardlight could do when allowed to spread their wings more. Unfortunately it seems like they're still doomed to spend eternity in the Speed Battle mines.

1) Probably because Sega Hardlight, the mobile team Sega owns, made the game, not Sonic Team or Sega of Japan, so it would probably be hard for them to port it to consoles.
2) It’s looking like Apple themselves funded the game so that would be a big reason.

i REALLY hope in the years since that Hardlight has at some point gotten the green light to make something in that same style for a larger audience at a higher budget because it's insane how high quality it is...

I read somewhere a long time ago that Sega may have used Apple's money so they wouldn't have to pay Sega Hardlight out of their own pockets which is why the games are stuck on Apple Arcade.

so far in velly's academy there's at least 3 students that utilize light in some way. but they're all different. One is light as an object, mostly as hardlight force fields, second is elemental light, like sun and holy energy, and the third is color and wavelength manipulation.
