Today marks the start of hunting season.

The Hunting Act 2004 banned hunting wild mammals with dogs, including foxes, deer, and hares. Nigel Farage says the ban is “an abomination” and “monstrous”.

Make no mistake, he opposes the ban on tearing foxes to pieces.

Tiny Dragon has just been earnestly correcting another mum on a tractor ride who just gave her child incorrect information about hares.

Hares know the future. It whispers in their ears. Now, look at a hare. Is that what you want for yourself? The eyes of a deranged prairie prophet?

The Cunning Hares, SoC, and Spook Shack would all probably be freelance devil hunters.

Look, the cover was accurate. It promised terrible things involving rabbits (or hares?). Also, did people never hear the warning about books and covers?

One of the rarely talked about effects of the hare coursing and deer poaching epidemic by dangerous organised gangs is that many farmers are quietly eliminating deer & hares (quite legally) to avoid becoming targets. Used to see many hares & roe deer locally. Not since coursers targeted the area.

In Austria, 70,000 foxes are killed each year. Hunting foxes makes no ecological sense as these animals can compensate for losses of up to 70% through increased reproduction. Foxes are killed solely because they are seen as competition in the hunt for small game, such as pheasants and hares.

Okay, I've seen kapos (exclusively from American Jews - Israelis have other expressions, often just saying "leftists" as a slur), but Hellenizers? I think I've only seen religious Jews call secular Jews that but even then it's quite peripheral as an epithet compared with "eaters of swine and hares."

Farmers and landowners routinely claim that hares must be shot to protect crops. This argument fails on three levels: evidence, effectiveness, and proportionality.
Banning Hare Shooting for Part of the Year Is Progress, Not Justice.
England is finally moving to ban the shooting of hares for most of the year.
