Experts, like HealthySteps National Director @rahilbriggs.bsky.social, stress the importance of low child-to-staff ratios that meet or exceed Early Head Start standards, qualified and trained caregivers, and stimulating environments to support the brain development of young children.

See how HealthySteps played a role in Shania and Cohen's journey! 🥰 #BelieveInBabies
Shania wanted Cohen to have the childhood she never had.

Love wasn’t the problem.
Support was, until someone believed in her.

Believing in babies means believing in caregivers, too.

Watch their story. Become a believer: https://bit.ly/3OsLdjd

Thank you for your support and investment in NY's children, families, and health care providers! We love to see recognition of hard-working and dedicated HealthySteps teams like the one at Ellis Medicine. ❤️

I joined the Ellis Medicine Pediatric Care team to present a $25,000 state grant for the HealthySteps program, part of the national ZERO TO THREE initiative. HealthySteps connects families with developmental, behavioral, and medical support right from a child’s first visits.

HealthySteps helps parents/caregivers access supplies like diapers, formula, and more.

Access to basic resources provides a sense of security + stability for caregivers and allows them to focus on building nurturing relationships with their children. 👨‍🍼
New research released from the NDBN Diaper Check 2024 indicates that mothers facing difficulties in affording diapers for their children experience heightened levels of stress, isolation, and anxiety about their future.

Programs like HealthySteps not only provide developmental guidance and support for families, they also help connect caregivers with external resources (like early intervention services), including navigating eligibility and referral hurdles.

This article highlights why that is so important 👇

In NY, 145,000 children & their families benefit from the high-quality, responsive care that HealthySteps sites provide — and many of them can't imagine their lives without it.
