We recognise this is really sad news and that for heaps of us the Secret Santas are a ray of light in otherwise dark times and therefore hope you know we would not take this decision lightly

See ya next year!

Not a total repudiation of big spending — Dem congressional races got heaps of financial help, both directly and from the outside, and NN won with a $10M campaign. But big spending appears to have whiffed elsewhere — backing 85 and 84, and trying to kill 87.

I'd like to get more excited about NZ's election, but I'll leave that until after the election (depending on results). I've met heaps of RW voters in NZ that think Trump is awful but somehow our RW is different. Trump is what our RW would like to get away with.

Thanks to parents who take their kids to trunk or treats instead of trick or treating, I’m stuck with heaps of leftover candy.
Well, not stuck. I have heaps of candy.
So, I’m forced to eat heaps of candy.
Maybe not forced, that’s a lot.
I’m voluntarily eating heaps of candy.
Don’t look at me. 😭

This is tidier than mine, which had devolved into heaps. The exercise is keeping me from screaming into the void, though, so that’s good. I am wondering about spontaneous generation.

The far right has been using transphobia as a starting point for their radicalization funnel for several years now. Folks like Bari Weiss have gotten heaps of cash to keep transphobia in the elite discourse in order to draw more people in. Moms for Liberty and similar groups use it to recruit.
