Today is my 25 year anniversary of hedgewitchery since my first initiation to devotion to my craft.

I've come so far. And learned so much.

Things I've learned: a thread.

For the first #witchmadness post, I wanted to go over what a Hedgewitch actually is/is NOT.

We are not a green witch, we are not a homestead witch. We are not a kitchen witch. We don't have to live in a forest. These are not all synonyms. We don't invoke, we don't evoke. This is not hedgewitchery.

Ok! Last day of #witchmadness

Day 31

Thank you again, @witchywolf58.bsky.social , @witchyempath.bsky.social and @michaelblackthorn.bsky.social for bringing this together for March. It was fun having a focus and putting together an online grimoire 😍

Some of us do many of these things to help support our practice of hedgewitchery! And they are brilliant ways of connection. But that isn't the root. These are unnecessary for the "jump".
March 1, 2025 at 6:56 AM
Part of hedgewitchery- the biggest part- is jumping over that hedge. We *move*. We meet them there. Most of us don't summon... or invoke or "call upon". We go to them. We are travelers. That's what differentiates us from other paths. Same connection, different methods.

#witchmadness day 3!

Getting in the state of mind for hedgewitchery.

We all have different techniques. You ask a #Hedgewitch what they do to jump and every single one will give you a different answer. Sometimes the same #witch will give you a different answer depending on the day haha.🧵

It's been interesting, engaging in writing proper, capital-L Literature. Fun. Challenging as hell. It's the best way I know to act on my Wiccan faith. It's the embodiment of my Hedgewitchery. If no-one else will write proper Lit for queers, I will. And yes, that means the diapers too.

When it comes down to the core, there are 3 key concepts that unite Traditional Witchcraft into one practice:

1. Practicing magic
2. Working with spirits, and
3. Connecting with nature.

Everything else is flavor in individual paths.

Hedgewitchery is a path of traditional witchcraft.

The reason I love being in the middle of nowhere. Paths unseen and a pantry of hedgewitchery.

Hi, I’m Ambrose. I’m all over the place! I am mostly Hellenic with wild forays into heathenry. Also hedgewitchery? I also love ritual and ceremonial magic, historical magical systems, use of entheogens, Neoplatonism and theurgy. There’s a lot I’m missing I’m sure. Oh and I love plants!

I serve both sides equally. And neither of them. But I do show that we are not separate. That the veil between us is manufactured and unnatural. That we did this to ourselves. And Hedgewitchery is a beautiful way that has been used for 1000s of years, to lift that veil, to blur it, to break it down.

Of course 😁 I'm using this #witchmadness to create the series specifically for hedgewitchery and it's been really fun 😁 like a beginner course in itself haha

I've got looming deadlines on three different projects right now, so my online time is limited over the next few weeks. In the meantime, Lottie wants everyone to know how much she loves wildflower season in Devon. So do I.

Jack's interests included hedgewitchery, cunning-work, Druidry, and some multicultural fusion blends.
Richard still hung on to some Ceremonial ideas and Traditional British Witchcraft notions, but is just as interested in the eclectic, multicultural influences as his brother.
