We took the train to Helensburg today. The countryside is beautiful.

Toured CRM’s Queens Cross Church earlier this month, then took the train to Helensburg to tour the 1901 Hill House that CRM designed for Walter Blackie. Also on this visit to Glasgow viewed the exterior of the Martyrs School, which is in great need of preservation and is not open to the public.

Beautiful place for a book festival. I had to look up Helensburg and realize I have been through it on the West Highland Line, near the submarine base (which I remember from that trip)

Back on the road, well actually the first part of the day was a train trip to Helensburg Upper to my start of the John Muir Way. Mostly back roads heading east and an early camp on the West Highland way near Drymen.

We have gotten to Helensburg to pick up some Mexican blankets and partner has forgotten her bag and wallet at home (?).
