I finished Hidden Valley Road after watching the documentary, Six Schizophrenic Brothers. It is hard to say I enjoyed it, but I learned much about mental illness, societal norms, the role of DNA, and how each family member deals with trauma. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really love the structure, which tells the history of the study of schizophrenia in parallel with the timeline of the Galvin family. It is a tough read for anyone who has this disease in their family, but there are astounding moments of bravery and resilience. #currentlyreading #hiddenvalleyroad

“Hidden Valley Road” was a great read and very helpful in my research. I scratch the surface of this family. Author, Robert Kolker, did great research and does a deep dive into it all.
