I wish I could say that these Beech flowers (male and female, Beech is monoecious) were up high and would therefore qualify for #HighUpPlants, but they were conveniently just at eye level. 👀 #WildflowerHour

As I'm in Cambridge, this week's #WildFlowerHour challenge, #HighUpPlants, would have been challenging!
So here is a selection of early orchids instead - Early Spiders in Kent, and Early Purples and Green-winged in Cambs. 🙂

Lots of Wallflower flowering high up on Conwy castle & town walls. Strangely, unlike other towns, they all seem to be the same yellow colour with no variation, perhaps suggesting a more ancient origin rather than more recent escapes #HighUpPlants @bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
