PEOPLE: - Akira Himekawa. Pen name for the mangaka of the official Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Oracles manga. - Kitsunepixie. Creator of ZeldaNoDensetsu.com, an English Zelda manga fansite. - Melora Hart. Creator of History of Hyrule, Zelda art and manga preservationist. QUOTE: Himekawa: We were truly surprised by how much love you’ve shown for the Legend of Zelda, and the extent of the data on your [fansite]. It’s wonderful! … There really are people from all over the world who left us notes. … It’s too bad we can’t understand English; we’ll do our best to read them, anyway! And, about the wallpaper of Raven [from our Oracle of Ages manga]: when we first saw it, we were actually mortified with embarrassment ^^; but overjoyed from deep inside our hearts. When we look at the work, it’s clear to us the depth of love the person who made it had for the subject. To feel that made us very happy. Please tell [Melora] thank you for us.

PEOPLE: - S. Nagano. One half of “Akira Himekawa”, the Zelda manga writer/artist duo. - A. Honda. One half of “Akira Himekawa”, the Zelda manga writer/artist duo. QUOTE: Honda: When we travel, we often go to ride horses. Of course, only horses trained for riding. Nagano: When we visited Mongolia, we tried wild horses that the nomads use for their everyday needs. They brought a few horses and told us to choose one. We used the same horse for a week, and our riding improved a lot. Honda: They were small horses. It was like riding a bike, which was good. The size matched our bodies. Nagano: The horses we ride in Japan have bigger bodies, so we can’t wrap our legs around them very well. I can’t use my legs to give them orders [laughs].

PEOPLE: - Akira Himekawa. Pen name of the duo created many Zelda manga series. QUOTE: "Himekawa: We're not actively aware of it, or we're not purposefully doing this, but we have this culture of ‘animism’ in Japan, where every living thing has a different soul and they all have their own meanings, like the god or spirit of any given creature. So even though we're not consciously drawing to reference Japanese folklore [when writing Zelda manga], it's probably in our mind or blood, or drawn what we observed as a child and all the folk tales that we've been absorbing for years and years, so the characters are just kind of translated that way."
