Another illustration from my 1776 expanded edition of ‘Sylva, or A Discourse of Forest-Trees’ by John Evelyn, a founding member of the Royal Society.
First published as a book in 1664, it’s considered one of the most important books on forestry. The art is by Johann Sebastian Müller.
