To those asking, here's Vance's comments.
When news broke that the terrorist in Germany was a Saudi immigrant, Vance implied blame on all immigrants/Muslims.
When it came out that the attacker was an Elon Musk fan, AfD supporter, and anti-Islam, Vance defended AfD.
He's said nothing else about it.
JD Vance on X on Dec. 20, 2024: "Who was driving the car?" in reference to a deadly vehicle-ramming terrorist attack in Germany. At the time, reporting said the attacker was an immigrant from Saudi Arabia. JD Vance post on X, December 21, 2024: "It's so dangerous for people to control their borders" in response to criticism of Germany's neo-Nazi "AfD" party, and in defense of Elon Musk's claim that "Only the AfD can safe Germany." Vance proceeded to insinuate corruption by the critic based on no evidence or logic (presumably because he knows she had a good point that he can't dispute on the merits).

In Scranton on Wednesday, Matt Wolfson, a 45-year-old former construction worker, looked around at poverty in the Rust Belt city and thought the nation needed a change in leadership. Wolfson said he didn't love the dictatorial aspect of Trump's personality, but thought it could help keep the country out of wars and maybe bring peace to some other conflicts, including in Ukraine. "He's good and bad. People say he's a dictator. I believe that. I consider him like Hitler," Wolfson said. "But I voted for the man."

just watched this netflix documentary on the oklahoma city bombing and once again i'm struck by how so many of the popular media takes on this event just avoid entirely the connection to organized white supremacism
