Napoleonics.
The major miniatures project in 2025 saw a headfirst dive into 28mm big battle Napoleonics, providing a Prussian contingent (12 Bns, plus arty, cav and cmdrs) for a refight of Waterloo hosted and organised by the awesome @johnsavage.bsky.social.

2025 - A recap 🧵
Very much a year of two halves.
Jan - Jun: Resettled into life at home in Wicklow and a new staff appointment at work, allowed a return to hobby and the WarCabin.
Jul - Dec: Bags packed again for another year overseas, attending Senior Staff College.

Littoral Commander.
Outside of miniature painting, I finally got to grips with Littoral Commander: Baltic - both solo and also with my military officers gaming group.
A simply superb grand tactical problem-solving and decision-making game, which you need to play!

Napoleonics.
The ‘Big Battle Waterloo’ weekend was unquestionably the hobby highlight of the year. An incredible table, with immense armies produced collaboratively and collectively over the preceding months, shared with the very best company and friends.

WarCabin Wargaming.
It was fantastic to host my good buddy @joewargamer.bsky.social for several days in April. Fantastic games of 15mm Cold Wargaming with Battlegroup: NORTHAG, alongside 28mm WW2 Chain of Command were had, alongside an awful lot of tea!

WarCabin Wargaming.
Fully kitted out, the WarCabin has proved worth every cent and ounce of work, playing host to fortnightly gaming evenings with my military officer wargaming group. Plenty of Memoir’44 Overlord games were played across multiple scenarios and theatres!

BattleTech
Significant work in Jun/Jul on the BattleTech project ahead of wanting to play the full Tukayyid campaign on return from Staff College.
This included sourcing playing battle mats and working on a full ComGuards Level-III (Battalion). Cannot wait for this!

Battlegroup NORTHAG
Still one of my favourite table-top games, 2025 saw work progress on the Cold War West German Bundeswehr force. M113G APCs, Luchs 8x8 reconnaissance vehicles and Jaguar ATGW units all being added to what will become the second NATO force for my table.

Yeah, I think the first goal I’ll have for #Hobby2025 is getting this Termagant of Hive Fleet Koopa completed:
Anyone know where I can source 5mm mushrooms for the base?
